Andrew James RP, Vice President of the Royal Society of Portrait Artists will be running a week long Master Class in portraiture and oil painting in April 2012.

Antony Williams RP, PS, NEAC will be running a week long Master Class in life and portrait drawing in June 2012.Anthony is one of the most respected portrait painters in the country. This exclusive class offers artists the chance to draw alongside him studying drawing the figure and portraiture.

Jenny is running a Master Class in landscapes, working within our lovely 220 acre estate, the charming surrounding villages and the impressive towns.

Course Description
An outline of a Master Class - this is the Six day Master Class with Andrew James RP.
This course will look to inspire and provoke open minded thinking upon the subject of portrait painting, with a very strong emphasis upon practical aspects of the painted portrait.
With the bar set high it will offer a stimulating and enlightening experience: hard work, perseverance and a sense of humour are the watchwords for anyone wishing to participate.
The course is an opportunity to learn from Andrew James’s extensive experience as a painter of the human face.
The sessions will explore the technical, theoretical and psychological areas of portrait painting- students should also be prepared to participate in discussions and practical exercises.
Each applicant will be asked to submit by email a selection of their work, prior to selection.

Schedule
- Day one: 5 hour painted portrait. Model 1
- Day two: Analysis of the work. PM Portrait drawing
- Day three: 5 hour drawing. Model 2
- Day four: Analysis of the work. Trip out to be arranged.
- Day five: Demonstration by Andrew James. PM Sketching in oils.
- Day six: Finishing painting/drawing, group discussion - final critique.
- Presentation of Certificates and Final Exhibition
